Get Inspired!

Blake Lively

 Moriah Peters

K. Giselle Johnson (aka the bestie)

You know I almost didn't post today & I definitely didn't go to church today. It's been a rough past couple of days.

I've been trying to brain storm for my blog about where I want it to go next and what changes I need to make and it's honestly extremely overwhelming!

But I was inspired today to get back up as I was surfing the internet.

It's funny how you can go on the internet searching for one thing and end up so far from where you started. Well today I was looking at other blogger which brought me to youtube which brought me to Meghan Rienks who brought me to the blog Two Bleached Blondes.

I was feeling sort of discouraged because I was like what if people don't want to read about jesus all the time. What if people get turned off of my blog because of it. What if because of my content I get stuck in a "jesus girl" bubble that I can't get out of.

These thoughts have been and still are swirling around in my head but then I found this blog with two girls from texas who write about jesus and fashion and have over 91.K followers on instagram and over 100,000 views on their blog!

I know blogging isn't about the numbers but those numbers inspired me and helped me understand that the content I want to put out is needed! People want to read this stuff!

Then through them i found Elyse Murphy who has a book "Confessions of a Church Kid" that i'm definitely going preorder. And finally through her I found the God Chicks conference which is obviously a conference for chicks who love jesus!

In less than 5 minutes I was motivated and ready to keep moving! (Thank you internet and thank you jesus!)

I didn't want to post today because I  felt like I didn't have anything motivational or spiritual to say. But God quickly reminded me that I don't always have to do the inspiring.... sometimes it's okay to just be inspired!

So the photos above are photos of some of the many women who inspire me (and of course my momma, grandma, aunties etc but they don't like to be all on the internet lol). And below are links to everybody I spoke about today!

LOVE YOU GUYS!

Admiria

(P.S. I may change my blog name again.... undecided lol. That should probably be my blog name indecisive or young and confused LOL) (okay bye!)

Money Money Money Money

It's the Sundays!!!!! Woo hoo! Let's become better together!

SO today I'm going to talk to you guys about something I absolutely suck at ..... budgeting!!!

Today I got another lecture from my parentals about spending; the crazy part is, i've actually been trying really hard to save money, however, things just don't seem to be going the way I want.

After some reflecting here are a few solutions I've come up with to cure my spending problem.

1. I need to live BELOW my means

Meaning just because you have enough money to buy that new thing you want doesn't mean that you should. Or in my case just because I have the money to go out to eat with my friends doesn't mean I should go every time they ask. One of the realest quotes I've seen on instagram said "you don't want to be the person that has an 1,000 dollar purse but doesn't have 1,000 dollars in it!

2. Check your bank accounts often!

Another one of my issues is I don't frequently check to see how much money I have. Not checking can cause us to over estimate the amount of money we have which can sometimes lead to overdraft!

3. Read what God says about spending money

The "You Version" Holy Bible app offers many plans which are esentially different bible studies for everyday. One that I am doing right now is called "financial fitness". It is such an awesome study and really looks deep into what God wants us to do with our finances.

4. Spend your money on whats best for you not on what's popular

I recently had the option to choose between the iphone 6 and the galaxy s6. I went into the store certain that I was going to get an iphone. The best buy worker asked me what I wanted in a phone and I told him an amazing camera because I want my blog, social media pages, and vlogs  to have good quality. He then showed me the drastic difference between the iphone camera and the android. The galaxy had the better camera by a long shot! My mind was racing: "But i didn't want to be team android.... all my friends have iphones ... and a lot of times people make fun of people when they see the green messages". But then i realized WHO CARES! I have to do whats best for me not what others think is best for me ...... in case you couldn't guess i'm now #teamandroid.

I know that may seem like a simple example but it has taught me a lesson I will take with me when it comes to buying clothes, cars, homes etc. You HAVE to do what's best for you! And besides who wants to be basic and have what everyone else has lol.

So yeah guys I hope this post was helpful! Comment below with some of your best budgeting tips!

Fathers Day

Fathers Day is definitely a bitter sweet day for me. On one hand I am grateful for my Heavenly Father along with my earthly father, the man my mother married in 2012 who has taken me in as his own. However, the day also hurts because when I scroll down Instagram all I see are the multiple baby pictures of my friends and their fathers and of a childhood that I will never have.

But although I call it bittersweet I am definitely not bitter.

God has mapped out my life perfectly and not having an active biological father is apart of what makes me who I am today. It's apart of the reason why I choose to wait for my husband to have kids because I want my children to be able to have someone to call daddy. And that's no shade to any single mothers because trust me I know that sometimes you just have to to what you have to do. But today I celebrate all the men who are there for their kids and all the men who take kids under their wing who aren't even biologically theirs. You change lives you really do.

I think people often underestimate the power of a good man. Many women today who are single mothers claim that they are both father and mother. Although I am a self proclaimed feminist I believe that it is impossible to be both father and mother. You can be an amazing mother but it takes an amazing man to be a father. Lets just celebrate the men today, okay? Happy Fathers Day!

Bootcamp!

Today we will talk about health and the bootcamp that I will be doing for the next month! It's super easy and more importantly free!

Now I know you're like what the heck does this have to do with the Sundays?

Well the Sundays are all about inspiration and I want to inspire you guys to get active with me! But also did you know that healthy eating and vegetarianism (for all my fellow veggies out there) is in the bible?!?! Daniel in the bible decided to go on a diet with some of his fellow men so that they would be strong for battle. In this diet they gave up "the kings diet" which meant no meat. They only ate veggies and water! After 10 days they were visibly healthier  Daniel 1:11-16

Now don't worry the bootcamp is nothing like that I'm just showing you that even the bible talks about the benefits of healthy eating and drinking lots of water.

The bootcamp that I am doing comes from LaurenConrad.com. It's super simple and straight to the point which I love and it's not about losing weight but about being healthy.

So below I will put the bootcamp instructions but you can always go to laurenconrad.com for more details.

This Week For Me:

Breakfast- Eggs w/ spinach and mushrooms w/ wheat bread
Lunch- Vegetarian frozen lunches from Amy's
Dinner- Vegetable Stir Fry
Exercise: Alternate Sprinting and Walking for 60-90 seconds for 30 minutes

God Written Love Story Part 3

Stephen Curry and his family have been getting ton of attention lately (especially after his daughter's wayy up I feel blessed speech). However, what caught my attention about this couple was not  Stephen's basketball skills nor their daughter; it was their faith in God and their placement of him in their marriage and family. This couple is truly inspiring and is definitely deserving of "God written love story part 3".

Below I have given you all the link to Stephen & Ayesha's "Husband Tag" video because they can describe their marriage a lot better than I can lol. Be prepared to witness perfection... I mean they freaking met in their church youth group; like seriously stop bring perfect!

CLICK HERE TO SEE THE LOVELY FAMILY

Next week on the Sundays we will be talking about some deep stuff. Somewhere around fear and positivity so get excited!

Love you guys!

P.S. my audition went well! Thank you so much for your prayers and keep me in your prayers as I move forward.

P.P.S If you guys have a God written love story or know someone who does feel free to submit it to me at admiriaessence@gmail.com :)

Is God Speaking to Me?

Sorry guys for being super MIA on the weekdays, but I'm actually planning a revamp for the blog so get excited!!

Anyways it's Sunday so you know what that means .... the Sundays!!!

Is it God or is it  just a coincidence.

Recently I have had a hard time hearing Gods voice. Not literally but in the sense of knowing when he's tell me to do something or not to. Sometimes I feel like I let me own voice drown out his.

Obviously this isn't good. So I'm going to share some things that I've discovered and some things that I've found in research that have helped me hear him.

1. Just ask! Pray for wisdom and ask God to make his voice clear to you and then believe that he will do that.

Matthew 7:7 says "Ask, and it will be given unto you; seek, an you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."

God wants to help you he wants to bless you so don't be afraid to just ask.

2. Just Listen. Sometimes during your designated prayer time don't say anything. Just sit meditate and listen. Proper meditation takes time and effort so if you're new at it don't worry just keep listening.

3. Remove distractions. Online I found the idea of having a prayer room or a prayer space and I thought that was so awesome! I know personally sometimes my mind can wonder as I'm praying making it difficult to really focus on God. Therefore, I think it's an amazing idea to designate a space just for him.

4. Be patient. Often I ask God something and expect to know the answer right then and there. Sometimes God does answer quickly, however, other times it can take weeks, months, even years to get the answer you seek. God knows the exact moment that you need to know what you seek so my advice is take your time and don't rush anything; pray and meditate on it until you truly know this is what God wants me to do.

5. Get to know him. Building your relationship with God, studying his commandments, and reading about how he has answered his believers in the past can help you better understand how God works and make it easier to know when it's his voice and not yours or somebody else's.

It's kind of like how your mom can just give you one look and you know that means shut up. Well you definitely didn't know what that look meant when she first did it; it took years of that same look for you to finally understand that when mom gives me this look I need to shut up lol.

My point is, the more you know God the better you can understand how he functions and how he speaks to you. Also sometimes God speaks to us through his word which is the bible and often the answer that you seek is in there

Here's a TD Jakes video that talks about hearing God. I'll be honest I haven't watched the entire thing yet since I myself am on my way to church but what I've heard so far is great I'll watch the rest when I get home I promise CLICK HERE

When God Writes Your Love Story Part 2

This week for "the Sundays" will feature another love story written by God. Blogger Sazan married the love of her life Stevie two weeks ago. Sazan said,

"The moment I walked down and saw him at the end of the aisle, I was fighting back the tears. I felt God’s presence all over me and the prize He was about to bless me with for the rest of my life. It wasn’t easy getting to the alter (so many cultural obstacles over the years) that only Stevie, myself and God can comprehend. I couldn’t help but think back to everything we’ve been through over the past 3.5 years and the journey to get to this moment. And in that moment, I felt like I won the lottery."

Sazan and Stevie are proof that love knows no obstacles and that nothing is impossible for God! Stay encouraged and know that when it's your time to find true love nothing can stop it. Nothing.

Lately, I've been getting questions about what to do when you find a guy that you are interested in but you don't think it's the right time. Also what do you do when you are with a guy who is very nice but you just don't think he's the guy for you.

My simple answer to this is if it's meant to be it will be. Don't force anything and don't settle! Don't be afraid of waiting! I know sometimes it can seem like we are waiting forever for love but don't you think finding the man or woman that God has put on this earth for you is worth it?

Enjoy your singleness or ask I call it your time to be selfish and join me in congratulating Sazan & Stevie.

The Jesus Girl

Shirt HM || Skirt Express || Hair Braidout

So I was informed a few weeks back that a lot of people at school called me "the jesus girl" but not as a compliment more as a joke. Although I'm definitely not offended by the name it truly amazes me that anyone could see following jesus as something to be laughed at.

Well this whole "name calling" has inspired me to talk about something that's a bit of a touchy subject for a lot of people which is ministry and not being afraid to share the gospel.

The bible says, "go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the father the son and the holy ghost" (Matthew 28:19)

I want to focus on the teach all nations part. So often I question how much teaching am I actually supposed to do and if I'm doing enough. Often times I (as most of us) have this fear of offending someone so I try not to talk about God "too much". It's crazy because Jesus has become a subject that no one wants to talk about and yet at the same time something that everyone really needs to talk about!

Sometimes I don't discuss my beliefs because I tell myself "oh not everyone thinks like me and that's okay." But it's not okay. It's not okay for me to have information about the amazing God and how to get into heaven and not tell people.

Now I'm not saying that everyone should think like me but I am saying if I hold the truth in my hands then why would I not want to share that with other people ? If I truly believe in God and the his laws then why would I not proclaim it to the world?

Sometimes the truth hurts and not everyone wants to hear it but that shouldn't stop us from trying to spread it.

Now I don't mean going around saying "you're wrong I'm right" but i do mean we shouldn't hesitate to talk to anyone who will listen about how good God has been to us and about his word.

The bible also says "he that claims "I know him" and does not his commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him" 1 John 2:4

God has commanded us to teach! So let's no longer be afraid of sharing the good news even if it's not the "popular opinion". MY GOD IS AWESOME! & he is currently working miracles in my present life and is already planning the blessings for my future. That's some amazing stuff!

Recently I got an internship at an awesome company in New York. Many told me I needed some sort of "connection" to get internships like this; however, all I had was an online app and my resume. After my first day at my internship I was talking to my mom about how all the other kids at my internships orientation said they had some sort of connection that helped them get in at the company; I told my mom I didn't understand how I even got to where I am. She told me, " it's because your connection is Jesus and you didn't need anybody else!"

WOW!

I'm not telling you all this story to brag but to share with you how awesome God has been to me & let me tell you I DO NOT DESERVE IT! Sometimes I literally feel like I mess up everyday but he loves me anyways.

Oh & side note to my ladies (and men) who are out there looking for love; the best advice I can give any one is to first know what and more importantly who love is. God is love! Therefore, if you want to know love, first know God and then you will have no problem discerning what true love is.

Like I said I'm not perfect I'm working on this stuff everyday and I truly admire the people I see with the "ask me about jesus shirts" and who pass about flyers on the street. I hope to continually become more bold in my faith but most importantly continue to help bring other people and myself closer to God.

I love you guys and thank you so much for reading my blog! Changes and surprises are ahead so please stay tuned. Oh & I post about Jesus and my struggles as a young christian woman every Sunday! Again, stay tuned!

Down But Not Defeated

Have you ever went down the wrong path and once you realized it you tried to convince yourself that it was the right path even though deep down you knew it was not?

That's what I'm experiencing now. It's like I don't want to admit I messed up. I don't want to start over.

But at this very moment, I'm starting to realize and understand that no matter how hard I try I will NEVER be perfect. I will NEVER have it all together and sometimes I just have to accept what God says do even if I can't seem to understand why he wants me to do it.

But IT'S HARD!

Trust is never an easy thing and  even though I know God will never fail me I sometimes  have a really hard time trusting his plan.

How am I working to get over this?

By asking God for the strength to do what he says even when I don't want to. By asking God for his love and forgiveness.

By taking this journey of life day by day, step by step. And when I mess up promising myself and God that I won't give up and will try again tomorrow.

We will never be deserving of anything God has given or has in store for us but that doesn't mean we should give up. Remember God knows your heart and as long as you keep moving forward and strive to do better he will keep opening doors and showering you with blessings but more importantly he will keep giving you the opportunity to come closer to him. What is better than an intimate relationship with the creator of life and love? Exactly nothing; let's promise each other to not give up!

Take Risks

Someone once said life is all about taking risks. Well can you believe that that concept is actually in the bible?!?

Here's the parable of the three servants and their "talents" from Matthew 25:14-30 MSG Version.

14-18 “It’s also like a man going off on an extended trip. He called his servants together and delegated responsibilities. To one he gave five thousand dollars, to another two thousand, to a third one thousand, depending on their abilities. Then he left. Right off, the first servant went to work and doubled his master’s investment. The second did the same. But the man with the single thousand dug a hole and carefully buried his master’s money.
19-21 “After a long absence, the master of those three servants came back and settled up with them. The one given five thousand dollars showed him how he had doubled his investment. His master commended him: ‘Good work! You did your job well. From now on be my partner.’
22-23 “The servant with the two thousand showed how he also had doubled his master’s investment. His master commended him: ‘Good work! You did your job well. From now on be my partner.’
24-25 “The servant given one thousand said, ‘Master, I know you have high standards and hate careless ways, that you demand the best and make no allowances for error. I was afraid I might disappoint you, so I found a good hiding place and secured your money. Here it is, safe and sound down to the last cent.’
26-27 “The master was furious. ‘That’s a terrible way to live! It’s criminal to live cautiously like that! If you knew I was after the best, why did you do less than the least? The least you could have done would have been to invest the sum with the bankers, where at least I would have gotten a little interest.
28-30 “‘Take the thousand and give it to the one who risked the most. And get rid of this “play-it-safe” who won’t go out on a limb. Throw him out into utter darkness.’

Now when the bible talks about taking risks I'm pretty positive it's not talking about the risks of trying every drug on the planet or jumping off of a cliff. This passage, for example,  is specifically talking about risks in the realm of using the gifts that God has given you. It’s talking about not being afraid to take that gift to the next level.

One of my themes for this year as you all know is “fearlessness”. I choose this theme not because I want to be completely without fear but because I want to learn how to take on the spirit of fearlessness when fear beings to arise .

My mom said a great thing today; she said, “ I believe in bravery and therefore I must believe in fear. Without fear there would be no reason for me to be brave.”

I totally agree with this! There will always be times in our lives where we will be afraid and honestly fear is normal! However, in this parable God is showing us that living in that fear is not normal! God never intended for you to use fear as an excuse to be stagnant; he wants you increase! He wants you to learn how to take on the spirit of fearlessness so that you can continue to multiple the gifts  & blessings he has given you.

And Guess what else? All God simply wants you to do in return for his gift is give him the glory. You don’t have to be a preacher or shove scripture down someone throat to be blessed or to get into heaven. God simply just wants you to do your best with what he has given you and sometimes, as this parable shows, that involves risks.

Whether the risk be taking out more loans to finish your degree, quitting your job, letting go of a relationship that is holding you back, or even audition for a new show like I did; are you willing to take it if that’s what God wants?

So today let’s all vow to live more! Let’s take risks and just be happy all while thanking God for his blessing. Sometimes I think we make life a lot harder than it has to be. J
