No Dating Update!

I am so sorry guys! I got caught up in the end of my college semester and have been slacking on my "The Sunday's" Posts. Although I know it's clearly Monday, I wanted to post one any ways because it's never to late to inspire.

Today's post will be an update on my "No Dating Journey" (Yes I'm still doing that lol) & tips on how to start a similar journey (since a lot of you guys want to know).

So, on May 8th I will have hit month 4 of my journey. (YAYYY!!) For the past few months I've been nailing my goal of building platonic relationships with males and females and I can proudly say that I haven't screwed up! (YAYYY!!)

But seriously, it's hard (as it should be) but I've grown so much already. I'm at the point in my life where I've stopped looking at guys as "potential husbands". Let me explain.....

One of my personal goals is I want to be so happy and comfortable with God and myself that the finest guy in the world could walk up to me and I wouldn't even flinch. Meaning, my first thought wouldn't be "future husband" it would be "who are you and why should I allow you in my life". AND LET ME TELL YOU... I am so close to that point that I can taste it!

Going on this journey has made me so confident in myself and it's so exciting to see how that confidence in relationships is spreading to confidence in my career and craft.

Now if you are interested in not dating for a year or something similar here's my advice: Do what's best for you!

No book, video, or person can tell you exactly how to go on this journey. When I began I made the mistake of following a book but I quickly learned that what worked for the author did not always work for me. You should of course listen to the many resources available to you but only take from those resources the things that work for you and your life.

For example, a friend of mines liked the idea of my journey but didn't know if he wanted to do it for a year. So instead, he decided to try it for a little over a month to see if it was something he wanted to continue.

Another friend of mines didn't want to give up dating but she did decided to give up sex until she got into a serious relationship.

This journey is a personal thing, meaning there's no rule book or step by step process. Make a promise with yourself & God and keep it! That's it.

RESOURCE

So if you are interested in learning more here's an excellent series on love, sex,  & dating that I watched and it was just amazing!!

It's a four part video series so I watched one video everyday. Like I said it's a personal thing so do what work's for you! The link is below check it out!
